The rural market town of Launceston with it’s imposing castle high on the hill is home to attractions, markets, shops and arts and crafts. Sir John Betjeman referred to as “the most perfect collection of 18th century town houses in Cornwall. It is roughly midway between the north and south coasts of Cornwall.
Cornwall offers over a hundred beaches, between them they offer all the activities you could want – sandy beaches for sunbathing and sandcastles, rock pools, surfing. Many of the beaches are dog friendly, and the coastal paths above the beaches provide stunning views.
Many Cornish Beaches have seasonal restrictions banning dogs, usually from Easter Day or March until 1st October, with signs like the one below at the entrance to the beach. Some ban during the day but allow dogs in the early morning (before 7 or 8 depending) and late evening (usually after 7) - the sign will specify. And most beaches are dog friendly out of season.

The views during the whole walk to the beach were just breath taking. We had to stop and take more photos, as it was just so beautiful, a very memorable walk indeed. We all just loved the beach and had the best day. We paddled, swam, found jellyfish, played rounders, ate pasties, sunbathed and kept and eye on the tide.
