From Easter Day the rules on access for dogs on Cornish beaches change…
Many Cornish Beaches have seasonal restrictions banning dogs, usually from Easter Day until 1st October, with signs at the entrance to the beach. Some ban during the day but allow dogs in the early morning (before 7 or 8 depending) and late evening (usually after 7) - the sign will specify. And most beaches are dog friendly out of season. However, the beaches below allow dogs at any time (to the best of our knowledge). Have fun with your four legged friends on the beautiful beaches.
The Strangles Beach – North Cornwall Coast
We finally explored The Strangles Beach in February and it was amazing. Such a beautiful, rugged and wild expanse of coastline. It is one of those places we have been meaning to go to for ages, but the tide was never doing what is needs to do doing. The tide should be low to make the most of your visit.
It’s a Bude-iful Day
Summerleaze Beach has a unique appeal as it has the River Neet with it’s bobbing sailing boats and the impressive breakwater making the beach popular with families and surfers. It provides a very sheltered environment for swimming or boarding. There are beach huts available to rent which give it a very English feel. Ella and William love a game of hide and seek in the well established sand dunes. There is a large car park nearby, and beach lifeguards in summer. Dogs are allowed on Summerleaze Beach all year, though they must be on leads May-September.
