We love swimming and our pool is great. Often it’s the first thing guests do when they arrive on their holiday, jump straight in! Set in the green farm fields it’s a peaceful spot for a dip and a great way of exercising.
The pool is normally heated from May to September (depending on the weather), and the average temperature is about 27C. Mmmmmmm, Toasty, everyone comments with surprise how warm the pool actually is.
The pool is 10 metres x 5 metres and is 1 metre deep at the shallow end, which then slopes steeply to 2.4m deep at its deepest point. There are walk in steps at the shallow end.
The large terrace surrounding the pool has a range of chairs, tables and sun loungers for relaxing in the sunshine. This area is a sun-trap and really does heat up. Some guests seem to have difficulty dragging their kids away from the pool, and end up spending the day chilling out, swimming and soaking up the sun and tranquility.
As there are only four cottages on the farm, it is more than likely our guests get the pool to themselves. Our cats stop by to see what is going on, they haven’t fallen in … yet! Megan the Sheep Dog is often found outside the pool fence, she is our unofficial lifeguard and likes to check the children are safe in the water.
We enjoy nothing more than taking advantage of the built-in poolside BBQ area and popping on a few sausages while the kids swim and play. Happy children – happy parents!
