Roughtor at Bodmin Moor, Tintagel, Cream Teas, Ponies and of course… the beach, that’s what Coombe Farm Cottage half terms are made of.
We soon arrived at the enormous barn and were greeted with a smile and a cup of tea by the lovely Vets Amy and Kelly from Castle Veterinary Group. We filled out our forms and all huddled together on the hay bales among the many sheep with their lambs and some pregnant mothers about to drop.
The place has been transformed in 6 months from a muddy old storage barn, to a stunning well finished high class holiday retreat. Don’t just take my word for it, come on down and see for yourself.
Hopefully you all had a very lovely Christmas and a fabulous New Year. 2015 is going to be an amazing year. The Coombe Farm team are excited about what the year will hold, the new animals and people we will soon be meeting, and getting cracking on the gardening and the vegetable patch.
On Thursday I headed off to participate for the first time in the local auction of oven ready Turkeys. Up at Hallworthy the punters gathered ready to get their festive food at a great price. I was eagerly anticipating the action, as I’d never been before, and I did need to get a turkey for the Conway Christmas dinner!
Half Term, Halloween and Coombe Farm’s Pumpkin Soup.
Andy Bacon kindly donated his prize to the Von Reibnitz family, who came and enjoyed a sunny weekend at the end of September.
Morvoren means Mermaid in Cornish. We all love mermaids, (and mermen of course, no sexism here) and we wanted to include this as one of our cottage names as we felt it reflects our love of the sea and the beautiful north Cornish coast.
Dozmary Pool, said to be bottomless, is steeped in legend. Here at Coombe Farm we are suckers for a bit of historic old folklore, so here are a few of our favourites.
