Pumpkin Fest 2016
Lifton Farm Shop, an awarding winning and amazing local shop, is hosting Pumpkin Fest. With all activities free apart from pumpkin carving (£2 per child) this looks like an awesome event. Activities include seasonal magic shows with local favourite Magic Martin, riding the Pumpkin express, story telling, films, and face painting. You can also pick your own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to buy and take home. I think the Coombe Farm team will be paying a little visit to this one this year.
All Hallow’s Eve at Boscastle
On Saturday 29th October 2016 at about 2pm celebrations will begin at the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, where else? Welcome in the dark half of the year with a lantern parade and six osses. What is a “Osse” I hear you ask? Well I didn’t know either, and the dictionary defines it as “a prophetic or ominous utterance”, so it might be worth turning up just to find out more…The event lasts well into the evening, with lit pumpkins decorating the harbour and the museum open until 11pm.
Tintagel Castle
This historic Cornish cliff top castle is offering the chance to, as they describe it: “join castle custodian, Florence, on a story-telling journey back to Victorian times. Ably assisted by her multi-talented cousin, hear her tales come to life with colourful characters and just a spot of audience participation!”
Fancy dress is actively encouraged and there are prizes awarded at 3pm daily for the best costumes.
Spine Tingles at Dingles
There are many crazy activities going on alongside the normal fairground attractions. Lucas Jet “the Pumpking” will be performing circus tricks and shows with a Halloween theme all through the day. There is also a ghost train, stilt walking, face-painting and the Jelly Belly BeanBoozled challenge.
22nd Oct – 29th Oct from 10am. Free entrance for children in fancy dress accompanied by a paying adult. 15% off when you book online.
Roadford Lake
This is an active day out suitable for sailors aged 7-17. All sailing abilities, even those who have never sailed before can take part in the “Goulish Sailor Graveyard Hunt”. This is a quest on dry land and on the lake in dinghies to search out the lost treasure. Then it’s back to the centre to get into full fancy dress costume, and have lunch. After lunch it’s time an afternoon packed with Halloween games, some traditional, some not!
The event is £20 per child and is from 10.00am-4.00pm and includes a hot lunch. Parents are free to leave their children with us and collect them at 4.00pm. Booking recommended.
