We wish to reassure everyone we are doing everything we possibly can to make safe and enjoyable stays possible. We have put together some information below that we hope will give guests more information regarding their holiday. We are following guidance from the UK Government and the Professional Association of Self Caterers (PASC) and are excited to welcome everyone back as soon as possible. We are lucky to be in a remote area of the country where social distancing is extremely easy, and we encourage our guests to explore the great outdoors. Below is a brief list of what to expect when you get to Coombe Farm Cottages.
Check in: At the current time we have had to adjust our check in and departure times to enable our cleaning team to carry out all the necessary checks and disinfecting. Check in is therefore now one hour later from 4pm, and not before. If you arrive ahead of time, there is lots to do in the local area. There is lots of information on our website under “News and Info” about the local area.
Check out: Check out is by 9.30am on your final day. Please leave windows open when vacating the property so the property can be aired as much as possible. To help us protect the cleaners, guests must strip the beds before they leave and put all used duvet covers, pillow cases, bed sheets, towels, bath mats, tea towels, cloths and oven gloves into the laundry basket and leave outside. These will then be stored for 3 days prior to sorting and washing at 90 degrees. Leave the pillow and mattress protectors in place for steam cleaning. The night before your departure we will drop off extra bin bags. Please ensure all rubbish (and unwanted food) is disposed of into the bags provided, sealed and put into the main bins in the bin shed. One person at a time in the bin shed.
The Cottages and Cleaning:
Our cottages and facilities have always been maintained and cleaned to high standards. However, we have had to adapt new ways in which we do things in order to maintain guests and our safety and social distancing. High grade disinfectants that reduce between 99.9 – 99.999% of bacteria and viruses and other microorganisms are used in the cleaning of the cottages and all “high contact” areas. We will be using a steam cleaner between guests.
Handwash will be provided and there will be an antibacterial/antiviral spray and kitchen roll in the cottage for you to use during your stay. Kitchens will be equipped with all necessary items. Washing up liquid will be supplied.
Bedding, linen and towels will still be provided. However please note that at the current time we shall only be providing one pillow per guest, if you require more pillows we kindly ask guests to bring their own. If you are bringing your own bedding please let us know.
Travel cots, highchairs and dog beds & bowls cannot be supplied. We have had to remove some soft furnishings and non-essential items. Check here for the updated inventory.
Please ask if you would like more information on our Cleaning Procedures.
Around the farm & Facilities:
We must try to remember the 1+ metre social distancing rules. Even on holiday this needs to be followed by both our guests and us. We understand how difficult this can be with younger children, but we can encourage and guide them as well as encouraging thorough hand washing! Please use the playground at your own risk, feel free to wipe the equipment down before use.
Under the current guidance the pool can remain open. Please wash your hands before and immediately after all swim sessions. We will have a rota system in place with time slots so that guests can enjoy using the pool safely. Unfortunately, we will not be able to leave any poolside furniture or pool toys out, however you are welcome to bring your own (eg, camp chairs, inflatables etc). Anything you take into the pool area must be taken away after your swim. There cannot be any Friday Night BBQs. The pool will be closed on Saturdays.
Animals & Feeding:
Please check your cottage when you arrive for details of the revised 8am Farm Tour. We are happy for you to visit the animals whenever you like, and we will have bags of feed available for you to feed the animals. We are around most of the time and are happy to answer any questions you have.
If you, or anyone in your group feel unwell or have any of the Covid-19 symptoms please DO NOT travel to the cottages. If you begin to feel unwell during your stay you must inform us and the whole family / group must return home to self-isolate and obtain a test as per the Government advice. The results of the test must be shared with us, the property owners. In the event that you are unable to travel home, and your self-isolation is required to take place at Coombe Farm, all your additional costs and those fees for all other bookings affected by this will be borne by you.
Having said all that, we are confident you will have a relaxing, much needed break here in lovely Cornwall. If you want to speak to us about anything give us a shout on 01566 880124 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
Warm regards, Jez and Lou
